Why I’ve been M.I.A

Hey guys, I know most of you are tired of hearing this, but I am genuinely sorry that I have been M.I.A lately. School has just been taking so much time off of me lately, I literally goo to bed at 2-3 and wake up at 6-7 because of schoolwork. 

You have no idea how it has been and I feel like I have been neglecting this blog. So I can’t really promise I will post more, but I promise I will try, here are some of the projects I’ve been working on:

Homemade Celtic tarot cards for Fashion History class.

My personal favorite one:

This was for my Visual Cultures class where I had to do a 2 meter collage, which I did about the influence of men in fashion and how that has influenced me. So the base of the dress figure was some of the men that have influenced fashion through the years, like Mainbochet to Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs, as well as photographers, icons, magazines and models. And the dress figure simbolizes me and my place in fashion right now.

What do you think? I spent 2 weeks doing this and I liked it so much it is in my living room, ha!

Anyways, that is why I haven’t been posting lately, hope you understand, but I’ll be back tomorrow with my favorite 5 magazine covers for March! Stay tuned.

Karl Lagerfeld to Launch and Re-Launch 2 lines

Monsieur Lagerfeld announced he is launching a low-priced line called “Karl”, which will be sold on Net-a-porter.com on January 25 and on his website karllagerfeld.com on February 28 and menswear starting on Fall 2012. The collection is said to incorporate a lot of denim and leather pieces that will only go up to $450. 

The other collection is Karl Lagerfeld Paris, a re-launch of his Karl Lagerfeld collection that went on hiatus on September 2010. It is describe as “affordable designer clothes” with prices going from $411 to $3,425. 

I personally can’t wait, and I know most of you can’t either! I just wonder how hard it must be handling Chanel, Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, Karl and being a photographer, all at the same time! 

Giambattista Valli X Macy’s Preview

Macy’s is hungry for haute-couture, they have graced us with a Karl Lagerfeld line, an Anna Dello Russo line, and now with Giambattista Valli.

Bal Des Vampires

The Vampire Ball, hosted by Carine Roitfeld (above) to celebrate her new book Irreverent, is one of those events I regret not having the chance of being invited to. The decoration, the theme and what everyone was wearing just set the mood for a dark, vicious -but fabulous- place. Oh how I wish I could have gone to the party, that I am sure, will be remembered for many years.

I am just stunned by the garments, make up, and Anna Dello Russo’s hat, this is the type of event that everyone would like to go to, I mean, who wouldn’t like to assist a medieval-vampiric themed party and play dress-up??
