Summer is here and water themed shoots are taking over fashion editorials. I for one love this Harper’s Bazaar España cover, I think it is a bold choice and aesthetically flawless.  I also love that Emma Stone has been the center of a lot of fashion discussions lately, as well as having another cover this month alongside her (sexy) SpiderMan co-star, Andrew Garfield, for Teen Vogue shot by Josh Ollins.

Now, as I have said before a number of times, I LOVE Karlie Kloss. And she and Joan Smalls look strangely alike, and beautiful for W Magazine this month. So I guess it counts just as one cover, or is it still 2 different ones? Eh…

Here are my favorite covers for this month:

  1. Harper’s Bazaar España featuring Hanaa Ben Abdesslem shot by Txema Yeste.
  2. Vogue Italia featuring Vanessa Axente & Mackenzie Drazan shot by Steven Meisel.
  3. Vogue featuring Emma Stone shot by Mario Testino.
  4. Vogue Nederlands featuring Rianne Ten Haken by Petrovsky & Ramone.
  5.  W Magazine featuring Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls by Steven Meisel

Summer is finally here and bright colors are everywhere! I love this time of the year because like everyone else, fashion takes a small vacation with light and relaxed trends that allow a breeze of fresh air between the heavier seasons.

Just to make it clear, I am NOT a fan of butt cheeks on magazine cover or any other page for that matter, but there is just something about Gisele Bundchen and Vogue Paris that is just chic, how is that possible? I don’t know, but somehow they make it work.

Here are my top 5 magazines for June:

1. GIsele Bundchen for Vogue Paris by Inez Van Lamsweerde.

2. Victoria Beckham for Interview Magazine by Angelo Pennetta.

3. Kate Moss for Vogue UK by Mert & Marcus.

4. Noomi Rapace for Dazed & Confused by Sølve Sundsbø.

5. Brooklyn Decker for Flare Magazine by Max Abadian.

Steven Meisel likes to see models dance.

We saw it in his spring/summer 2011 campaign for Prada and now in Lanvin’s fall campaign. I can’t lie, I love seeing models in such humane actions, it gives a complete different perspective to fashion, it looks more fun and approachable.

Check out the video featuring Raquel Zimmerman, Karen Elson, Lowell Tautchin, Milo Spijkers, and Alber Elbaz’ little cameo at the end, dancing to Pitbull’s “I know you want me”, above.

Milo Spijkers for the spanish magazine, Tendencias, shot by Eudes de Santana.

I am more of a city person but this editorial definitely makes me want to take a week off at the countryside (or at The Hamptons but sadly I can’t afford it). On that note, I feel like this captures the whole essence of summer, and chill yet elegant fashion.
