My Top 5 Vogue Covers January 2013:

The new year is here and it brings with itself a great deal of magazine covers. How unbelievable are all these? Seriously, I was blown away. Let’s hope every magazine tries to keep up and make better covers each month.

My absolute favorite is the Art Meets Fashion issue by W, and here I chose my 2 favorite covers, out of the 4. Also, this is the first time Vogue Italia has featured an asian model by itself on the cover, you go Fei Fei! Now without further ado, here are my top picks for this month:

  1. W Magazine featuring Jessica Chastain by 1. George Condo 2. Mickalene Thomas.
  2. L’officiel Thailand featuring Vlada Varnavskaya
  3. Vogue Italia featuring Fei Fei Sun by Steven Meisel.
  4. Vogue featuring Gwen Stefani by Annie Leibovitz
  5. GQ featuring Lana Del Rey

My Top 5 Magazine Covers December 2012:

I can’t believe another year has gone. It was one hell of a year though. It was a fun experience, lot’s of things happened in the fashion industry and lots of projects started as well.

This month’s best magazine covers go mostly to Vogue franchises. They really were my favorites. Also Kate Moss is in 2 of my picks. Not much variation in publications or models, but they are all breathtaking and glamorous. My favorite magazine covers for this month are:

1. Vanessa Axente and Marlon Teixeira for Vogue Italia by Steven Meisel

2. Kate Moss for Vogue España by Mario Testino.

3. Scareltt Johansson for V Magazine by Jean-Paul Goude

4. Coco Rocha for Vogue México by Regan Cameron.

5. Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss for Interview Russia by Mert & Marcus.

I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings in terms of magazine covers, editorials and of course fashion-related scandals, ha!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Must Watch:

Kate Upton for Vogue Italia. Fierce

Top 5 Magazine Covers October 2012:

You can accuse me of showing preference for Lana Del Rey, and you wouldn’t be mistaken. I love this cover. I think you can see deep into her eyes and understand where all her lyrics come from.

Also this month we see someone who has been kind of lost for a while: Kaya Scodelario, and she looks stunning. We can also conclude that Jennifer Lawrence is not the best of models; I mean she looks über awkward in the cover (and you should see the rest of the editorial) but I still love her as an actress.

This is Condé Nast madness. Except for Wonderland, every other magazine that I loved this month comes form the lord of publications. Hearst better step up, lol.

Here are my top choices for this month’s magazine covers:

  1. Lana Del Rey for Vogue Australia shot by Nicole Bentley.
  2. Meghan Collison for Vogue Italia shot by Steven Meisel.
  3. Kaya Scodelario for Wonderland.
  4. Li Bingbing for Vogue China shot by Chen Man.
  5. Jennifer Lawrence for W Magazine shot by Tim Walker.

It is that time of the year again, the most important month in the fashion industry! The fashion weeks are rushing, the magazines get bigger, and the wardrobe gets chic-er (in my opinion). As last year, I chose not 5 but my top 10 picks for the best covers of the month.

They are all so great, so it was hard to edit them down but here they are:

  1. Carolyn Murphy for Vogue Italia shot by Steven Meisel.
  2. Kristina Salinovic for Harper’s Bazaar Singapore.
  3. Gwen Stefani for Harper’s Bazaar shot by Terry Richardson.
  4. Lady Gaga for Vogue shot by Mert & Marcus.
  5. Emma Stone for Interview shot by Mikael Jansson.
  6. Linda Evangelista for Interview Russia shot by Nikolay Biryukov.
  7. Lindsey Wixson for Flare shot by Max Abadian.
  8. Victoria Beckham for Glamour by Pamela Hanson.
  9. Kate Moss for Vogue Paris shot by Mert & Marcus.
  10. Maryna Linchuk for Vogue España shot by Miguel Reveriego.

Do you agree? What were YOUR favorites?
Have a great September everyone!

Summer is here and water themed shoots are taking over fashion editorials. I for one love this Harper’s Bazaar España cover, I think it is a bold choice and aesthetically flawless.  I also love that Emma Stone has been the center of a lot of fashion discussions lately, as well as having another cover this month alongside her (sexy) SpiderMan co-star, Andrew Garfield, for Teen Vogue shot by Josh Ollins.

Now, as I have said before a number of times, I LOVE Karlie Kloss. And she and Joan Smalls look strangely alike, and beautiful for W Magazine this month. So I guess it counts just as one cover, or is it still 2 different ones? Eh…

Here are my favorite covers for this month:

  1. Harper’s Bazaar España featuring Hanaa Ben Abdesslem shot by Txema Yeste.
  2. Vogue Italia featuring Vanessa Axente & Mackenzie Drazan shot by Steven Meisel.
  3. Vogue featuring Emma Stone shot by Mario Testino.
  4. Vogue Nederlands featuring Rianne Ten Haken by Petrovsky & Ramone.
  5.  W Magazine featuring Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls by Steven Meisel

This is an interesting mix. I wasn’t expecting magazines to be taking such risks, they all look so high fashion! I know most of them are international (not-american) magazines, but still, I loved the bold choices each of these magazines made.

I need to point out Teen Vogue here: I absolutely love the magazine but the covers up until now were kind of bleh; I felt they missed a spark in them, and Katy Perry in blue hair definitely spices it up. Congrats on this one Teen Vogue! You outdid yourself.

Here are my choices for this month:

1. Kasia Struss for W Korea shot by David Byun.

2. Linda Evangelista for Vogue Italia shot by Steven Meisel.

3. Vanessa Paradis for Interview Russia.

4. Coco Rocha for Elle Brazil shot by Max Abadian.

5. Katy Perry for Teen Vogue.
